Fosshotel Barón
8/10 Good
"Good location, across the road from the Sun Voyager. Currently, quite a bit of construction around the property, which is unsightly. Parking is available but expensive. The discount offered by the hotel is appreciated. Room was OK. A bit small, as well as the bathroom, especially shower. Bed was very comfortable! The Hotels.com VIP drink was delightful. All in all, very decent hotel in a very expensive city!"
"We stayed here for 1 night and it was clean, spacious and centrally located as well. Parking was easy as it was right in front of the property.
Breakfast was one of the best we've had in Iceland and the staff was very courteous."
"I liked the staff especially Victor and Shawn, the night shifts. They were very friendly and helpful. We loved their breakfasts. Only thing I didn’t like was that our bedroom was next to outside hallway, and people would bang the doors early in the hour waking us up. Also they need to repair or get a new sofa bed. It feels like you’re sleeping upside down needing many pillows and was very uncomfortable. We were staying at the Suite for 3 of us in room 908"
"Funky place to stay. Definite millennial vibe with all the convenient scanning places throughout the hotel. You get a wrist band wirh a scanningvthing in it and you scan to get in your door, into the hotel after hours, for beer, wine by the glass, coffee, laté, choc bars etc. There's always an attendee to help if anything goes wrong. We're a mid 50's couple, and there were all ages staying here!"
"I had a lovely stay at Hotel Reykjavík Saga. The location is unbeatable, and the staff were friendly, professional, and efficient throughout my stay. They were also very accommodating with several room changes I requested for different reasons, which I greatly appreciated.
My main disappointment was the breakfast offering. The restaurant only provides a buffet with no option to customize meals or order à la carte. I found this quite restrictive, especially at the price point. Some travelers prefer more flexibility, and I didn’t feel the breakfast provided good value. I chose to have breakfast at a nearby hotel, Hjá Joni, which offered à la carte options and a much more flexible dining experience.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend the hotel for its excellent location and service, though I believe the breakfast experience could be improved."
