I enjoyed the location of the hotel. It was easy to get to and close to attractions.

My friend and I did a get-away weekend and I chose Hotel 50 because it was close to the river. Turns out it was close to everything. the Max line was 1/2 block away and we took it everywhere. The Hotel has been tastefully redone and our room was large and very nice. I will stay there again, next time I'm in Portland.

Wonderfully comfortable bed, extremely helpful staff, close to downtown, easy access to go other places in the Portland area. Would definitely stay here again!

We were wanting to stay in downtown portland with close proximity to the waterfront, and the hotel fifty was perfect. Close proximity to pioneer square and shopping. The next day we were heading to the zoo so I took advantage of their business center to purchase and print tickets. Printer had no paper. They gave me some paper only to find that the printer […] would not print. I called down to ask if they could send someone. I waited 20 minutes and no one came. It was cleaner than another competing hotel we stayed at a few days later. And the staff gave more of an effort overall. Its is close to a lot of stuff great public transit access. My only complaint (not really hotel related) was the proximity it was to the Skidmore area (about 4 blocks away). I have stayed in this hotel twice now and I was very happy both times. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. It is close to the waterfront and walking distance to lots of downtown stores. The public transportation is right outside the door if you don't like to walk. I would definitely stay there again.

Room was clean but somewhat on the small side considering other options in PDX, but as a place to sleep for a few hours, it was fine. Bathroom was clean and little soaps, etc, were of good quality. Convenient location for downtown access and running trail along the river across the street. Right at the waterfront, close to wide selection of restaurants and shops. Close to major freeways and to the Washington Park with the Rose Test Garden and Japanese Garden. Only complaint we would have, and minor at that, was the layout of the room with the bathroom very close to the bed and closet.

If you book online, pay for the river view room, otherwise they will stick you in a room by the elevators and you will listen to that all night. The staff seemed very nice, but not very knowledgeable about Portland or the surrounding area. The room was clean. This is an awesome hotel. Don't let the simple lobby or the exterior architecture fool you. This is definetly a 4 star hotel.The location is absolutely perfect. All the max lines are either right outside the door or a block or two away. Going back for sure.

The location is excellent for business in and around the World Trade Center, just a couple blocks from the hotel. The inter-city bus line runs right by the hotel. I have stay here before. Hotel was everything we needed and more until we were pulling back the covers to go to bed. As soon as I pulled back the duvet cover I saw a white "love stained" hand print, and as I pulled back the covers more I saw a larger "love stain". This was disgusting and a utter laziness on behalf of the hotel. Were they trying to be cheap by trying to flip […] the comforter over? I would have given this hotel 5 s on everything if this would not have occurred. If you stay at this hotel beware of its attempt to cut corners in skimping on clean the rooms after each guest stays. I will not be coming back because even after this was brought to the attention of the front desk little was done to make our stay comfortable or to better the situation. Many of the rooms in Downtown Portland are pricey, so we found this hotel's rooms to be a very good value. Comfortable room, modern appearance, helpful staff, reasonable on-site parking. The shower does not have a full door, but this was not a problem for us (as some reviews have noted it was for them). We were up rather late (4 am), but managed to sleep until about 10 am, which considering the noise, wasn't too bad! We live in the area, and frequently find ourselves staying downtown, just for a night away. I spent a few days at this hotel a couple of years ago, and now just this past week. I will return. The location is perfect: walking distance to many things I think are important: the river esplanade, the mall, Voodoo Donuts, Canadian geese, and vegan Chinese food. There's a business room to print boarding passes, coffee maker and fridge in the room, and the rooms are nicely decorated/updated. The bathroom is beautiful, and the ambiance is fine. I discovered Hotel 50 a few years ago and now I rarely stay anywhere else in Portland. I love the location, the convenience, the comfort, and the quiet. The staff have always been very helpful and their internet access is quite good for a hotel. Everything was fine with the room and hotel overall. The only downside to the room was that the analog thermostat did not seem to be very controllable. The air blew at a steady temperature regardless of where the thermostat was set to. I eventually discovered that if I cranked it over to the right to 90 deg, the air stopped.

I traveled to Portland for a conference, I could not afford the conference hotel so I stayed at hotel 50. It was a clean, well managed, and friendly hotel, answering many of my questions. Location is close to public transportation and the riverfront. I would elect to stay here again and would recommend to friends and family.

It's rated 3 stars and I think it fits just fine. Things were decent and acceptable, but certainly not exceptional or excellent. I'd probably stay here again if I'm on a budget like I was this past weekend. I think the valet could improve though. The hotel is clean, the rooms are well appointed and it is near the train making travel easy. While desk service was excellent, service in the restaurant during the breakfast was poor - waiters were slow, non attentive and seemed to disappear for long periods two consecutive days.

Really like it and will stay again soon, my only concern was the courtyard view stated was a parking lot so I felt milead and the train rumble a bit of a distraction. All in all no problem.

We have stayed at this hotel before, but I am not sure we will do so again. We could not get the heat to work. They said they had two boilers and you had to turn the thermastat to the left to have it kick on. We have alway come to Portand in July so maybe we just never noticed it before. Also, we have never stayed in a room where there was only a hole […] in the floor for the shower. No enclosure, no curtain. Water everywhere. Good location by the waterfront park and right n the Max line. Rooms were a little small but adequate w/ a good bed.Nice bar and restaurant(didn't eat there). No corkscrew in the room but bartender opened wine for us. Overall positive experience
