The wall are really thin, so you can hear child and adult noises on your floor. Other than that, the hotel is excellent for the price.

The bed in my room was out of this world. Between it and the pillows I slept great. Minus the 11 PM phone call from the front desk one night b/c they couldn't get my credit card to run for parking charge. They had transposed numbers, no problem but 11 PM! Really! Also, house keeping was lacking. I went to make coffee the first morning and found the […] filter and coffee from the previous guest in it. I stayed four nights and they never once took care of the coffee pot or restocked the creamer, sugar, ect. I left a pizza box next to the trash can since it didn't fit and they didn't take it with. When I first checked in I had to wait an hour to get my room key because the desk clerk was on a shuttle run. The sign said to call a special number, the first time no one answered. It also said the wait would be no more than 20 minutes. After driving 7 hours I really wanted in my room. So overall, it's not awful. Very nice hotel staff, unique rooms, easy to find, close to all the downtown attractions, quiet. I was surprised at having to pay to park at the hotel which would be my only negative feedback. Other than that, it was a great experience for the price.

I was very disappointed with my stay at the Anchorage Downtown Hotel. The decor is absolutely charming and the beds are reasonably comfortable, but I am afraid that is where my positive feedback ends. My room was dreadfully cold, and I suspect this must often be the case, as I located a space heater in my closet during the night while in search of additional […] blankets, of which there were none. Initially, I had no qualms about the dimunitive dimensions of the room, but the scant amount of floor space was then further depreciated by the bulk of the heater. After a very restless night of feeling like Goldie Locks in a room that was alternatingly too cold or too hot, I headed down to the lobby area for some breakfast. After making my selections from the meager fare, I returned to my room and decided to hazard the shower. It leaked everywhere. I think it is worth mentioning that the bathrooms are not equiped with hair dryers, which I found to be somewhat troublesome as I ventured out into the 20 something degree fahrenheit. Oh, and if one should catch a cold, I found it inconvenient that the room was not stocked with kleenex. I did voice my concerns to the manager on duty as I was checking out, and he stated that he would look into them. Perhaps the next traveller will have a more pleasant stay than my own. The Anchorage Downtown Hotel is a nice, cozy place to stay for the weekend. I stayed in a cute, single, Queen-sized bed room. Upon arrival, the things that stuck out the most to me were the room size, lack of bathtub, and the temperature of the room. The room was small, about enough room to comfortably walk around the bed. Which, while we're on the […] subject, donned bedding that had small stains and tears in it. Nothing big or unreasonable, but the bedding was clearly used a bit more than gently. So, if you're expecting like-new bedding, you may want to be wary. Also, you won't be taking any baths here. The bathroom does not have a bathtub, but rather a long shower with a seat built in. Lastly, when we got there, the room was a little too cold. However, they had a space heater that we had no trouble pulling out and using. It warmed the room up quickly. Overall, it was a cozy place to stay and I wouldn't mind staying there again for a short weekend trip. If longer trips to Anchorage occur in the future, I may think about going for a room that is a bit bigger, albeit more expensive. For the price, this hotel is a good place to stay and will keep you warm, dry, and comfortable. Also, it's very close to all downtown amenities, which is a perk when you're wanting to experience Anchorage. The staff does a good job, especially when considering the hotel isn't part of a multi-billion dollar chain. Rooms are small but clean, very tight for 2 adults & luggage (1 case each). No lift, so carrying heavy bags up 3 floors of stairs was a big effort. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast, wi-fi were great but the best surprise was the free shuttle to the airport for hotel guests really topped it. Room was nice although the bathroom could do with an upgrade. Will stay here again in the future.

Room was extremely small - really too small for 2 people. Breakfast was sparse, but ok. Evening wine advertised in brochure was non-existent. Bead was comfortable and room did have nice touches like refrig, microwave and flat screen tv.

The hotel is old so don't expect modern conveniences. However, it was clean, bed was very comfortable and staff very friendly. Shuttle takes you whereever you want to go at no charge. Room rate is way too high for what you get. I would not pay the high cost to stay here again.

The room was clean, fairly large, and comfortable. When it was cleaned the next day, the bag of garbage was inadvertently left in the bathroom. The front desk staff was helpful, and the clerk drove us to the airport at 4:30 a.m. (free), though he left us at the wrong end of the airport. (At least it's small!) I spent a little over a week in Anchorage at this hotel. The price was very reasonable and it showed in the service. Their front desk wasn't always manned and even when it was, you would walk in to find the employee watching the tv or in the office and with no bell or anything to get their attention with would get annoying at times. We loved our stay at the Anchorage Downtown Hotel. Our room was small, but cozy. We loved the comfortable king sized bed and the flat screen tv to watch movies. It was clean, quiet, and close to dowtown. I typically do not sleep well in motels/hotels, but I slept great here. The rates were reasonable and we will definately return. Thanks!

The room was really cute and had plenty of room for us. The guy at the front desk was really helpful and welcoming. The bed was quite possibly the most comfortable thing I've slept on in my entire life - I had a hard time getting out of it in time for checkout.
