We chose to stay at this hotel for one night to take advantage of their pool facilities while ours was undergoing maintenance. Unfortunately, the pool water was GREEN, the chaise lounges lacked shade and offered no umbrellas except for the perimeter tables. Furthermore, the property is in need of renovations and maintenance. The requirement to leave identification at the front desk to obtain pool towels, subpar mattress and pillow comfort, and questionable cleanliness standards, all contributing to a disappointing staycation experience.

Yet another wonderful stay at Casa Iguana. It feels like coming home to family. Always so clean (Thank you Carla and ladies!) and everyone is so nice. Lalo takes great care of the grounds and pool and Martha is always fun to talk with in the restaurant.

The hotel is modest and small and that is its appeal. The staff are regular and one can get to know them a bit. The rooms have everything needed and attentive daily housekeeping. The hotel enforces quiet hours (much appreciated). The onsite restaurant is good value. The grounds are very picturesque. The hotel is very pet friendly, providing pet beds and water dishes and lots of grass for the pet. The environment is peaceful. The location is close to stores for groceries, restaurants, and the beach.

The wifi is only in the common areas and not in any of the rooms, which is inconvenient, but not a deal breaker. Here’s the thing, I was not impressed by the front door but after you go into the actual courtyard, it’s much nicer than you’d think. The rooms are big and are in decent condition for the age and area. It is very convenient to walk down to the beach and excursions, and not be super high priced because it’s not right on the beach.
