My, wife, kids, and I were in town to tent to family matters. Another family member had booked us in a hotel that should have been about the same or better quality as the The Hampton Inn, but it wasn't and we didn't care for its location. "Just ok"
We stayed only 1 night while on a campus visit for my son. The positives were a sleeper sofa in the room and the indoor pool open til 9pm. Check in was easy & quick. The room was excellent, having a nice big comfy bed & very nice seating area & restroom supplied with plenty of towels & other needs. Thanks for a great stay in a super clean hotel! The breakfast is excellent, well stocked and organized. The location is great with easy access to major roads, shopping, and restaurants. This hotel is very clean with a very courteous staff. The rooms are big and tastefully decorated and the beds are super comfy. The breakfast was good, the breakfast room was really nice! The room was comfortable with a spacious and very clean bathroom. the only reason I rate it less on service is because we checked in pretty late (around 5 am) and the person at the front desk was less than friendly. Buffet breakfast left a lot to be desired. Flimsy paper plates, watery juice, fake eggs, everything on the super cheap. I'd rather they charged $5.00 and had some decent food. Asked in reservation for non feather pillows. We had feather pillows. When we called to get new pillows they said all they had were feather pillows. Very nice hotel - comfortable beds, clean spacious rooms, helpful staff, great breakfast. Only problem was that it was a bit hard to get to from the Freeway (LI Expressway)...be sure you have a map or a good navigator, and when booking it was not made clear that the room was shower only, no tub, which my wife did not like. It was too much trouble to […] switch as we had arrived late, but be sure to check this if it is important to you. BTW Long Island is the most difficult navigating this side of London - not a straight street anywhere and they change names every time they get into a new burg. overall good place to stay for travel. my only issue was that the room i was in (121?) had a lot of road noise from the LIE service road. "Close but no top rating...sorry 'bout that."
Stayed last Friday night. Initially the room was very pleasant and very clean. When I tried to turn on the TV, It would not turn on. Got the maintenance man to tell me that the tv would have to be turned on manually and the remote will work. What????? I let it slide and I turned on the side table lamp and the lamp holder was dangling on top of the lamp […] base. Overall the front desk was very apologetic about it all and hopfully this was the exception. Breakfast buffet was ok but the eggs looked like from a mix or just stirred too much during cooking. Nothing terrible but nothing to brag about either. I would stay here again and use their facility like the gym (decent with a nice assortment of dumbells) and the indoor pool.
