Wonderful hotel with so much character and charm. Loved the classic old-style bar with beautiful cocktails and a pianist playing classical music. This is a classic hotel in a great location. We had a wonderful stay here at the end of the season. Everything was perfect - from the room view, service and attentiveness, to the food. I was a bit worried because of some negative reviews (on this site). However, I think it is a matter of expectations. This is not a new building and has not be renovated. So it doesn’t have the latest and the greatest. But that is part of its charm. This is old school at its best.

A very nice stay in this beautiful, historic hotel. Our room was comfortable but at times somewhat noisy facing the street. Breakfast was excellent and the views from the patio can’t be beat. We also had one dinner which was excellent, but the 4 course dessert was excessive (not to mention a dessert in a box as a gift). The staff are friendly and very helpful.

Do not trust the porter with your stuff. We left a beautiful white umbrella when checking in and did not get it back when the luggage was delivered to our room. The porter assured it that we can pick it at the reception area when going out, but it was not there. We were not even offered a hotel's own umbrella as a replacement.
