Loved the location, no noisy bars. Stayed in a deluxe balcony suite, lots of room to spread out. And always appreciate a separate toilet from bathroom sink. Only 2 minor inconveniences. Bathroom sink was clogged and very low water pressure but hey, it's an old city built below sea level.

We had a blast at Hotel Royal! It is clearly an historic building with all the accompanying quirks (like no place to plug in the coffee pot that was in the room), but it was super clean and sits in an absolutely perfect location for enjoying the French Quarter. We would definitely stay here again!

This charming gem in the French Quarter is a great jumping off spot for exploring the Quarter, and a comfy walk from Frenchman's Street, the best music to be found! Be aware that there are no elevators, and some of the rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors require some significant stair climbing. Still, if you're looking for a stay where when you wake up, you know you're in New Orleans and not just another chain hotel room in any other city, this fits the bill. Thin walls, and you can hear guests coming and going, but it was pretty quiet overall, and the inside rooms are great for no street noise. Recommend!
