Though the hotel is called the Inn at Joshua Tree (not to be confused with the iconic Joshua Tree Inn further west along the highway), the sign is literally SureStay Plus by Best Western. The property is undergoing reservations so either they temporarily changed the name to avoid negative reviews, or it’s changing ownership, or something else that feels somewhat shady. The pool is also closed during renovations. TL;DR if you need a decent and cheap room to just sleep and want the option to grab a quick basic breakfast, and you aren’t fazed by subpar cleanliness, this spot will suffice. First, the PROS: the staff is incredibly welcoming & friendly and they made up for what might have otherwise been a 1-star experience. Room didn’t smell like cigarettes. The continental breakfast was surprisingly decent, but don’t expect a buffet or omelette station. They had cereal, milk, pre-packaged hard-boiled eggs (but no salt & pepper packets!), oatmeal, granola bars, slices of bread and fresh fruits, but availability varies and it wasn’t as well-stocked on our 2nd day. CONS: Overall cleanliness — biggest YUCK was when a cockroach stared me down when I got up in the middle of the night. When I was doing a final room check before leaving, I found AirPods under the bed. They weren’t mine and I turned them into the front desk. Either the cleaning staff didn’t do a thorough check during their cleaning, or someone on the cleaning/hotel staff dropped their earbuds under the bed.

The receptionist of front desk was kind and professional. I liked the large visible hotel banner sign which is standing out at night much more. Your " continental breakfast" was under the expectation. At list, boiled eggs could be included.

The name on the hotel isn’t the same as Hotel.com so it wasn’t easy to find. Had to drive back and forth to find it and stop to ask at a hotel. Service and staff were GREAT!!!!!!

Hotel was very dated and a bit run down. First room smelled of stale smoke so asked to be moved. Second room smelled better but again dated and run down. No hot water for shower - told to run it for 20 mins! Items under bed showed lack of proper cleaning. Pool closed (being refurbed)

We stayed in the back building and when we went to take a shower, the water was not getting warm. We called drive front desk and they told us since we are in the back building we have to let the water run for 20 minutes before it get warm. The bed was lumpy, pillows were like mini pillows, and anytime you moved it sounded like something dropped in the floor, it was so loud. The lighting in the room was terrible. We won’t stay here again.

The shower didn't drain well, the room was outdated which kinda surprised us since we knew someone else staying there that said their room was nice and updated, we are guessing they hadn't gotten to the rooms in the back building yet, the front desk staff was very nice and helpful.

good price and good location, and breakfast was good but I had a hard time getting hot water. The staff said it would take about 10 minutes to get hot water, but it took almost 20 minutes for it to come out. It's a waste of water in a region with limited water supply, and the hot water situation is a problem.

First off, there was a mistake in room number. I was given the room number by mistake. I went back to tell the desk attendant and she said she gave me the wrong room number and she corrected it. The room seemed somewhat not put together. When I went to the restroom I noticed that the shower was for handicap person. I wasn’t able to lift up the bench and shower properly. My husband said that the lever to hook it up was broken so we had to shower sitting down and the space was very cramped. There were no more rooms available to change our room. In the morning for breakfast there was no more coffee available. Several guests were talking about there not being coffee. Would I stay there again? I don’t know, I would have to check other places first.
