It was a charming little hotel. It doesn't have an elevator or air conditioning, but neither were needed. It's wonderful they have a restaurant on the lowest floor. Breakfasts were amazing. Roy was incredibly helpful and kind and gave us some great recommendations for dinner in downtown

I would definitely stay here again! It’s cute, comfortable, and in the perfect location—in a quiet neighborhood right next to the park, out of the bustle but only a few minutes’ walk from all the main attractions. It’s right between downtown and the beach, surrounded by old houses and beautiful gardens. If you’re looking for a reliable and convenient base while you explore Victoria, this is the spot!

The staff at the James bay Inn were without a doubt the most helpful I have ever encountered. The property was spotlessly clean, the coffee was perfect in the morning, I didn’t get a chance to have the complementary breakfast, but I overheard some people saying good things about it. My only complaint would be that there is no elevator on site, however, the staff or always accommodating me by bringing things up the three flights of stairs. If that’s the only thing I had to complain about, this place is pretty bloody good! I would not hesitate to recommend the James Bay Inn

I had the best experience from booking through to check-out! The very kind and welcoming young woman carried my bag to the third floor for me, and the gracious front desk man dashed up to the second floor the next morning when he heard me coming down. He carried my bag to reception, and then down the front steps after check-out. A friend joined me for dinner in the dining room and we had a delicious meal and desserts. My room was spotless, very comfortable, and I had the added benefit of watching the Legislative Buildings light up from window. I have already told several friends to book there on their next trip. Thank you for enhancing my trip to Victoria!

Cute quaint hotel. The staff were friendly and wonderful. Area was beautiful and loved being in walking distance to downtown. I’m not sure if I would stay again mostly because the room was just too hot and stuffy even with the two fans. I was unable to open windows for fresh breeze because of not having screens ( fears of something coming in). Over all though not bad place

We had a queen room with a fridge. Not all rooms have a fridge so read the description carefully. It was clean, comfortable and great value for this prime location. No coffee maker in the room but it was provided in the lobby every morning and the amazing staff make you feel at home.
