Place was very clean, it's a quirky building, narrow maze like hallways, small rooms. My room did not have an attached bathroom, it was in the hallway (but only for my room). Parking lot is tiny and you might have to park next door in their overflow parking at the Chinese restaurant. Everything was pretty much fine until I got back to my room a little […] after midnight only to then find that the heater in the room did not work. It was chilly that night and I really needed that heater, and there weren't enough blankets to keep me warm. I was tired by then and didn't feel like going to the desk to complain and possibly have to change rooms so I just dealt with it. We stayed at The Inn at St. John for our first anniversary and absolutely loved it. The hotel was cute and comfortable, the rooms were awesome, we loved the private hall baths, and the staff were fantastic. The facility and staff were first rate. I would stay there again. Or room had the restroom in the hall which wasn't an issue. Great price, great people, very cute inn! I came for an interview I was having in the area, and it is very cozy. This was as good if not better than most hotels/motels advertise as their special full breakfast. This historic hotel was very cute. Different from the average hotel. The one BIG bummer was the hallways were extremly small and the stairs were steep!! super steep. My wife was more than pleased with the choice of the Inn at St. John. She was initially skeptipcal of my choice when I told her where we were staying, but after we checked in and got to the room, she couldn't stop talking about how perfect the whole Inn was. Everything was clean and the staff was welcoming and attentive. We had to use the overflow parking […] area, but it was immediately adjacent to the Inn and was no problem. There are plenty of places to grab a quick bite just 5 minutes from your room, but if you're looking for something a little fancier, than a 15-20 minute walk walk up Congress St. will get you what you want.
