One thing we really appreciated was the fact that there were lamps and reading lamps on both sides of the bed. And the breakfast was really good. But the thing that gave us pause was that, as we were checking in, a number of guests were checking out because they found that their rooms had not been serviced by housekeeping staff after the previous guests had checked out. The night manager explained that the housekeeping staff had left early without completing their work, which left them with a number of double-bed rooms unserviced. Fortunately for us, we had a single King suite reserved. I was also pleased that the night manager was able to cancel our reservation for a second night which I had inadvertently reserved.

The breakfast girl was excellent; she kept the food hot and full. Everyone came at different times, and the area was well-stocked and clean. She had the best attitude. This hotel had the best customer service of any Choice Hotels—they made us feel at home.

I honestly don’t understand the positive reviews for this property. The hotel appears poorly maintained, and our room had a strong musty odor that never went away during our stay. The walls and floors also seemed very thin, we could hear nearly every step from the guests in the room above us. The location is convenient to the nearby baseball facilities, but that also meant numerous travel teams were staying at the hotel. Kids were running up and down the hallways for extended periods, and management made no effort to address the disturbance. The fitness center is outdated and in need of improvement. Overall, the experience did not justify the inflated summer rates being charged. In my opinion, this is a $75–$80 per night property at best. Paying significantly more than that will likely leave you disappointed as we were.

First room had blood all over the mattress. It was absolutely natrocious. The pool room was about 50°. And the pool itself was maybe 45. It was completely unswimmable. The hot tub was empty and somebody did a hit and run on my car in the parking lot
