Although he food was good it was overpriced especially the fish 'pollack' being plentiful around our coasts. The view from the bedroom window was appalling and the entire premises needed a complete overhaul and decoration. However the staff were as helpful as possible. I believe Berties is classed as a "Restaurant with Rooms" rather than hotel. Just to be clear that you should review according to what you have paid for. The room although small was very clean, had wifi access, a tv and very small desk/chair. The bathroom was quite large which was pleasantly surprising. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. […] The only real downside for me was being woken up in the early hours by people moving wheelie bins full of glass bottles outside. I booked online from Australia. I spent some time with family then, due to a change to my travelling arrangements, I arrived earlier than the stated check in time, but a phone number on the front door enabled me to contact the manager who kindly arranged for a member of staff who lived locally to let me in. I was so grateful after travelling there by […] train for four hours, and walking from the train station! I was able to dine downstairs in the restaurant - lovely food at a reasable price. I was travelling alone and the wait staff were very aware of this and provided me with reading material at my mealtimes, which was very thoughtful and much appreciated. It can feel awkward when dining alone, but not here at Berties! I had the bed and breakfast option and paid for my evening meal separately. My room was comfortable and very clean, the bathroom had a bath as well as a shower which was good. There was some evening noise from local traffic but it wasn't too bothersome or too late. I spent only two nights here but really enjoyed my stay and Romsey itself is a beautiful place to visit - make sure you visit the Abbey! 阅读更多信息

Berties was ideally situated for us. We found a check in of 6pm a little late, but the staff were very friendly. Our room was deightful, but one thing let it down, the shower didn't work! Looking at it, it was probably broken for some time, so we were a little disappointed!
