"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room was clean. Excellent restaurant in hotel, also includes breakfast. Be mindful, though, if you are mobility challenged as there is no elevator- ask for ground floor. Parking can be a challenge, but can be worked out. Staff was courteous and helpful. We would stay here again."

"We absolutely loved our stay at Hame on Skye. The property has a lovely casual atmosphere that mirrors the views. Our room was well appointed, breakfasts were fantastic! We had the haggis, Florentine and bean selections, all were equally delicious. The gathering room was cozy and comfortable offering intimate seating and group seating and the view from the restaurant was unmatched!

"This is a very minimalist type of hotel. Not a whole lot of frills, but perfectly located in downtown Portree. Parking was simple, free parking a few blocks away and most of the time you could get a spot right in front for loading and unloading."

We only spent one night here but it was one of our favorite places of the two week trip. The house is very nice, well kept, and comfortable. We stayed in the Rum room, which is spacious and luxurious. Easily one of the nicest rooms we’ve ever stayed in.
The breakfast was great, and the dining room is open and pleasant, and the food was delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful too. Also, the garden and the view are hard to beat.

During our 2-week visit to Scotland, I managed to catch RSV. I was miserable. And by the time we reached Portree, I was struggling to breathe. My husband spoke to the Cuillin Hills hotel staff about how to go about seeing a doctor and they immediately got to helping us out. The desk staff spent over an hour on hold with the NHS to help establish my "temporary resident" status so that we could even get in to see a doctor. Staying at this hotel just made our stay on the Isle of Skye ten times better than I had hoped for. The hotel included dinner every night with our stay which ended up being a great idea. The food was excellent and not having to drive the narrow, twisty roads after dark was a plus. They have two living rooms, a small bar room and the dining area so there are plenty of spaces to spend a relaxing evening. The rooms are newly refurbished and gorgeous. This was hands down one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at! Our room was clean, cozy, and full of amenities. Our daily free breakfast was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced so many options and made to order. The dinner was amazing everything was cooked to perfection! The Haggis bon bons are a must try! The staff are incredible, so informative, and so accommodating. This was such a beautiful place, we will definitely be back on our next trip to the highlands.
Loch Eyre House is a charming and private bed & breakfast. The fact that it's 7 miles from the traffic of Portree is a big plus-- at Loch Eyre House you have quiet and a beautiful view of Loch Eyre.
