This was clearly the nicest place we stayed on our bike trip from Carcassonne to Sete. The host couple, Natalie and Sebastien, could not have more welcoming or helpful. Their quiet little chambres de hotes is very close to the Canal du Midi path and very relaxing. We reserved this hotel because it was not far from Narbonne and had easy parking, but we didn’t know what to expect. Needless to say, it exceeded our expectations. Superb service from the front desk, delicious and full breakfast, very comfy bed and strong air conditioning. It was the perfect stop on our road trip.

The Chateau lies gently uphill from the town center, and is a mid 19th century building beautifully restored and expanded on the the premises, which are surround by vineyards. Chateau Castigno is located in the absolutely stunning area completely picturesque. Two good restaurants in the village of Assignan including a great breakfast.. many others within a short driving distance. The cave is an architectural gem with a thoughtful caring winemaker at the helm. Delicious!
