The Reef House is in a quiet part of the island. We went for relaxation and diving. The first night we snorkeled at night in the ocean pool and saw octapus, shrimp, flounder, small eels, and huge urchins.
My older son wanted to fish, so they arranged a day of fishing and visiting a shallow area where nurse sharks and rays hang out, so we got to snorkel with them. We caught a bunch of tuna and they cooked it up for us for dinner. We went during the end of August, which is the slow time. ...

.I arrived at Upachaya in a state of mental and physical exhaustion. This is a fabulous place to unwind and de-stress. I curled up on the porch for two weeks and spent most afternoons simply reading and/or writing. I enjoyed falling asleep listening to the tree frogs and the men fishing in the bay. My husband booked this resort for me I enjoyed my stay. Very relaxing my room was clean and it had everything I needed and more. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
