Breathe in salty sea air while watching fishermen haul in their daily catch at the picturesque harbor. Explore tide pools teeming with marine life or embark on a whale-watching tour from the nearby Sonoma Coast State Park.
We have been there before, but never in such a leisurely fashion. We drove out to the Head, talked with the whale watch people, visited shops and the visitors center, enjoyed the sea lions. Friendly people. Good food, and quite reasonable prices!

Bodega Bay is great for hiking, going to the beaches with pet friendly areas, not too crowded. During the Mushroom season, great for foraging

Perfect little fishing town to visit. The perfect mixture of tourism with an actual fishing town. Seafood restaurants with beer and coffee strung about. A must visit!

Definitely go out to the headlands and go for a walk. The parking is free. If you go to Dorian Beach you're not on the ocean and you'll have to pay for parking

Quiet, easy town -- not much to do except slow down and enjoy. Easy access to other areas nearby.

Grocery availability is scarce. Couple of smallish stores. Many well rated establishments close early, like at 4 or 5 pm. Strange Place s beautiful and has maintained village character. Ok for two nights, longer than that would be a stretch

Seafood paradise across the street. We were given breakfast coupons then went back for dinner. Fun watching film The Birds that was filmed there. Had to bring smoked salmon home with me.
