While the historic village is small, there were many shops with various price points. I liked driving the area, especially up to Trapp Family Lodge. It was fun to book outdoor activities there, and follow up with a reservation at Bierhall. Go hungry

Stowe is a ski town, but there is still things to see and do outside of skiing, and everything is close together. Make sure to see the covered bridges as well. Shop owners are nice and friendly and helpful.

The only negative thing about Stowe was the amount of people there, we expected it to be busy, but it was insane on the weekend. That's what you get when you come at prime leaf peeping time ;)

There was a covered bridge in town. We went to the Cider Mill for donuts. We went to the Ben and Jerry's factory. We went to see the ski resort.

All ski mountains are a bit tired and the weathers changing so much that the seasons are not very attractive. Pretty much a wash out in late January. Not cool. Fortunately Stowe is better than others in NE for dining and stuff for kids.
"This lodge was just adorable! It was modern, cozy, friendly, really relaxed and simply beautifully furnished. Great style outdoors too. There was fire pit, seating, coffe, tea, apples, games area, hiking, a bar, free breakfast…There was everything you could possibly want (minus a restaurant) but there was one across the street, one next-door, there’s restaurants everywhere in Stowe. It was so convenient to town and my single, king room was just perfect for me, solo traveler looking for a nice quiet, clean, relaxing experience. It was truly stylish and unique. Lovely staff. I loved it!"
"This is our second time here and it’s wonderful! There is plenty to do on the property and also in Stowe! A must see if you are a fan of The Sound of Music! "
"This property is currently under renovations and I am looking forward to seeing the renovations done to see the new updates. We have stayed here numerous times and I love the staff the location. Everything is walkable. I have never had a bad stay at Stowe Flake. They have a great gym with plenty of equipment indoor and outdoor pool. I will definitely stay here again."
"The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great with lots of options. Staff was kind and friendly. The bike trail is so convenient and beautiful. We even saw a bear on the property at night near the dumpsters. Great area. Can’t wait to get back. "
