"This is a very well maintained, modest hotel in a lovely part of town. The staff is very friendly and accommodating but note that the reception desk closes between 10:30p and 6:30a. The hotel is small and not spectacular but for a simple, straightforward stay in Heidelberg on a charming square (with a farmers market some mornings) it’s really exceptional. "

We opted not to go for breakfast so can't comment on the food, but the drinks at the bar were great. Would definitely stay again, by far our best stay in Heidelberg so far!!"

From the hotel, a stroll along the Hauptstrasse leads to easy access to Heidelberg Castle via the Heidelberger Bergbahn funicular railway, and then on to the mountain summit of Königstuhl with amazing views!"

"We had the room on the top (5th floor). It had a huge bathroom with a great deep tub (plus a big shower). The room, which was a very spacious, had beautiful exposed beams. It was charming (more so than the other units of the property, which were also nice, just not as charming) and really nicely situated in Heidelberg, two blocks or so from the castle and Christmas markets. If I am ever in Heidelberg again I would certainly stay there! The only downside is there is no elevator and the steps up...

Apparently it is the only family owned large hotel in Heidelberg and the fact that we met the owners when wandering the halls, shows their involvement, along with the manager who frequents each breakfast. The location is very convenient and it is a very special and charming place to stay."
