We had an amazing stay, on a walk to get some dinner supplies at a market we were offered to come celebrate a holiday with community members, a truly special experience. Check in and out with lock box very convenient, be careful driving in as the streets are narrow and be respectful :D"

"This was a very cozy stay. All amenities and documentation were well prepared and the place was clean. The host was very quick to reply on Expedia (less than 5 minutes) even at 20:00/8:00pm. If you have a family, having a rental vehicle is a must since walking is unsafe, especially in the evenings. Parts of the walk from Shimosato station and Taiji station do not have sidewalks. Access to the the Nachi area for Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route isn't the closest as you'd have to take train and bus,...

"Facility needs updates but it has a nice ocean view and quiet onsen, located right next to the whale museum. I highly recommend including breakfast in your reservation. You’ll enjoy a quality breakfast with live piano. Stop by the roadside station or a convenience store to buy some food because dining options are limited. "

"The village is a bit dated and this hotel was the best option we felt on paper. While a bit old fashioned it was lovely, clean, provided wonderful service and the outdoor Onsen was mixed so my husband and I could experience it together. We sat in the hot spring at 10pm by the river. It was lovely. The staff helped us understand the etiquette and answered any question we had. They were so kind.
