"Reasonable price, centre of town location, the room and bathroom were a decent size as well as clean, comfy and well equipped. The stand out was the very cosy bed and pillows. The pub itself had friendly staff and nice food that was reasonably priced. The only points to note are that staying on a Saturday in summer meant I couldn’t park outside the hotel and had to park further up the high street. Note parking restrictions are mon to sat 8 am to 6 pm. The water pressure in the town is not great and that affected my shower. Also being a Saturday night in a pub there was some noise but generally quieter after closing and a good pair of foam ear plugs helps drown out the town centre hourly clock gongs. Overall I would stay again."

"I would normally say nothing rather than write a bad review but this place was so bad - the room in particular, the fact that no one cared and it showed , the lack of maintenance or bothering about customers , i think other guests should be aware. We could have put up with having to search for someone to check us in, the dirty carpets, battered dirty paint work, incredibly slow service , being made to feel an inconvenience for having dinner ( food was nice when we eventually got it) and not having what I ordered for breakfast, but the room was beyond awful. It didn't have an outside window , but did have a dirty stained carpet, the worst mildew I have ever seen in a bathroom , a mattress that was so soft it must have been ancient . It was so warm with no means of fresh air we were unable to sleep . The mist expensive hotel on our St Cuthbert's way trip and easily the worst"

"It is an old building but clean and well maintained. There are no staff on site, but when I rang up to check on access, I got immediate help and a call back from their head office, so was impressed by that. A continental breakfast was left in the room for us, including plenty of milk, left in the refridgerator."

"Stayed 29th May 26. The entrance is not from the sea front, but there is pedestrian access during the day as they run a café. Alison kept us well informed before we arrived and she met us at the door. Lots of useful information about buses and taxies in the hall way. Take a photo, as I think for some to walk in is a bit far. Our twin room, Number 5 on the 2nd floor had the best view over the sea, and had everything we needed, including a pair of binoculars. There is a walk-in shower in the bathroom which was ideal for us. Can't say much more as it was so perfect."

"The room was very big and spacious. It was very clean and came with en suite too. There was a back door to the car parking area, which was a nice touch to load/unload your cases. The bar was nice with seating areas for food in the evening, just like a restaurant. The food was exceptional in the evening and at breakfast. The service was too. Staff were very friendly and courteous. We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it."
