With the recent social upheaval in Ecuador, I was worried about the safety aspect of staying in Guayaquil. I needn't have worried. There was a solid police/military presence but it was not overwhelming and kids were out at night. Very normal feel.

I was born in Guayaquil Ecuador; this is my first time coming back after 15 years. There is a lot of places to visit and be safe. However, there is a lot of poor people and if you decide to rent a car and drive be very careful

"Great overall.
Super close to airport (10 minute walk, 5 by car)
Staff is helpfull and friendly (helped us with taxis, booking another room for the following week)
Clean. My son loved the pool."
"I was very surprised by this Holiday Inn! Not your typical Holiday Inn hotel. The service, amenities, and staff are exceptional. This hotel is very modern and very clean. If you’re looking for a hotel that has all of the accommodations this would be the one."
