Oban is well-known for its castle and seaside while attractions include Oban Distillery and McCaig's Tower. Visitors to this welcoming city speak highly of the seafood restaurants whereas sights include Oban Ferry Terminal and Oban War and Peace Museum.
This was my third visit. For its size there are a lot of services, much like a seaside resort where restaurants stay open late and there are good transport connections. It is the "burg" of the West Highlands. I even made it to McCaig's Folly, too.

Cute, manageable town with various dining options. If you're interested in beer, wine or spirits making - do the Oban Distillery tour. Public transportation was hard to find but finally saw taxis queued up in town available by phone only

We have visited Oban often before, but have never stayed there. We loved the views from both McCaig's Tower and Pulpit Hill. There are nearby castles - Dunstaffnage and Dunollie. Also, lovely places to eat, particularly Ee-usk.

Lovely coastal port and harbour with good range of restaurants and bars and close to public transport. Beautiful scenery and walking/cycling routes to explore and ferries to many of the Western Isles.

Love Oban to bits! It's a very friendly town in a lovely setting with great places all around. Very dog friendly too. The Lorne Bar is great for a good, reasonably priced meal. Poppies Garden Centre and Cafe, just outside Oban is great too.

Depending on what you're after, plenty to do for a couple of days. I did a boat tour, Whisky tour and of course plenty of fresh seafood in the harbour. I recommend The Olive Garden - not cheap but worthwhile. Best bars - Oban Inn & Tartan Tavern.
"The chef and the floor staff in the hotel restaurant should be complimented on their food, appearance and attention to detail. Just amazing keep up the fabulous work. The bar and lobby entrance sharp and sophisticated , I must say a special mention to the front bar with view over the bay. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed and decorated. For those with fur friends - there is a doggy wall of fame "
"This hotel struck me as an old-time resort hotel, something out of a movie! The rooms were gorgeous. There was a pool (which we did not use). There were several dining options, a beautiful reception and bar area, and wonderful views of the water from the lobby and from our room."
"Great Stay. We have been before to this Hotel so we new what to expect. Staff Great and Polite. Breakfast very good,
Its an old Victorian Type Hotel but you get what you pay for,Yes there could be a few improvements here and there with the Structure but what suits some dosen't suit others. The price was right so there you go. Would we go again yes. "
