A wonderful little hotel between Parma and Reggio Emilia. A lot of character, very nice rooms, and wonderful staff. Morena, in particular, was very helpful answering all of our questions and being patient with my mediocre Italian. Will definitely stay at Hotel Tricolore again when in the area.
Palazzo Della Rosa Prati is a charming, centuries old building located in the heart of the historic center of Parma. We had a two bedroom deluxe suite which was actually an apartment with a full kitchen and washing machine. The building is old, but the interior is modern, clean and comfortable. The staff are amazing. They helped us with dinner reservations and even arranged a cooking class for us. I highly recommend this hotel.
Absolutely beautiful property with excellent service. We visited without a car. While that was do-able, I would not recommend it, as the property is a ways from Reggio Emilia. Air conditioning was excellent in the rooms and a welcome respite from the July temperatures. On site restaurant was fantastic, but busy during dinner. I recommend making reservations prior to arrival if possible. Do take advantage of the wine and vinegar tours!
It's a 3-star hotel with many 4-star features. A bit out of the way if you want to tour Parma. Also, somewhere it says the hotel is attached to a shopping center. I am not sure where I read this, but it is not true. It is free-standing with no shopping center in sight. Overall, very comfortable, many modern features, and great value. Good breakfast, too.
If you want to experience the life and landscape in the Appenines, this is a beautiful place. Experience an old family house, feel the history, the atmosphere of the house, and a marvelous host. It is very quiet and beautiful, away from the busyness of the cities. Nice trails or drives to go on.
