This was a simple hotel - bed & breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything worked as it should. The sunny terrace in front was great! We also really liked the ample breakfast. The only thing that was a little difficult was finding this hotel with our balky or dysfunctional GPS. Even our local friend had some difficulty locating the street.
We are four American women over 50 (one 76) who enjoyed Casali Romei Apartments very much. It's a little harrowing to get into the first time. The entrance is through a narrow drive flanked by brick onto a rutted narrow gravel road up a hill. What made this even do-able for us is that our Mother lives in the woods on a similar road. Very nice experience. Inexpensive restaurant and cafe attached to the hotel. Owners were very pleasant and helpful with our travel plans. Location was a 15-20 minute walk from train station. Nice that ice was available and at least one television station was in English.
To start communication was prompt and comprehensive. This out of the way hotel with its own private garden is far from the sounds of the city center and just a 2 minute walk from shops and dining. The room was clean and well laid out and the service was first rate. I was concerned about not having cell coverage to connect to their system, however it was not an issue. The staff are welcoming and extremely helpful
This is a fabulous, stylish hotel decorated in beautiful neutral colours but the staff in particular are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. There is no restaurant as such but the breakfast is super and we enjoyed the light lunches they offer. It is rated as a four star hotel but compared to other four stars we have stayed at in Italy, this hotel is far superior. (We also stayed in the last week of the season so the hotel was competitively priced compared to spring and summer).

88 Miglia was spectacular. The best view in all of La Spezia. The hike to the hotel took us through a nice neighborhood with cool views.
The owners were so nice and welcomed us well. We took the local train to Manarola and Riomaggiore in the Cinque Terre area (very close to La Spezia).
We would visit 88 Miglia again!

Loved it. We wanted to stay in one of the cinque terre villages, but ended up here and we were SO glad. Take the ferry from Porto venere which is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Hotel staff will help you understand the ferry and times. Town of Porto Venere was one of our favorites.
