"Gurung's Home has truly become my home away from home. I stay here - nowhere else! - whenever i'm in Kathmandu. The staff is the family, and they are so welcoming, and able to help me with my transportation issues. It is a little bit hard for the taxis to find the address, because Google Maps directs them to a pedestrian street. But about five minutes out of the way, and you can find it. The location is cool because the bustling city is right nearby, but the hotel is on a quiet side street....

"A nicely kept hotel in a quiet area of Thamel. The room was clean and simple. Very nice for Thamel. The service was wonderful, especially Sussil and the front desk. Breakfast on the rooftop was much better than expected. Azaya the chef was excellent! I would stay here again."

"Cet établissement est tres bien placé pres du Thamel mais demeure excessivement calme. Chaque etage dispose de terrasses utilisables agréablement decorees. Les chambres sont propres. Le personnel est souriant et serviable. Côté petit dejeuner , aucun reproche à formuler non plus. "Ambassador Garden House is a nice boutique hotel in Thamel. The garden area is very relaxing, the staff are attentive and the bed is very comfortable. The kichen/cafe staff make a very nice coffee and breakfast."

"As a hostel experience, not much more you can ask for. Comfortable, beds are very private(I stayed in a shared room and it was still very private), inexpensive, really good restaurant, and plenty to do nearby. "

"KTM City home has perfect location as it is near the heart of Kathmandu. It is newly built so the facilities are still new and very clean. It has good solar power water heater, and if you want to just relax and feel the breeze, you can go to its wonderful rooftop. The owner and staffs are polite and very friendly. They can also cook delicious local food for dinner. Overall, you will surely enjoy your stay in Kathmandu here."

"I stayed at this hotel with my wife and encountered a very disappointing situation during our stay. While waiting for the elevator, a woman entered ahead of us, despite us clearly being in line first. When I mentioned this, she replied that we “wouldn’t fit” in the elevator. I explained that we had been waiting and, if the elevator was full, she should wait for the next one. To our surprise, she claimed to be the owner of the hotel. I was shocked that someone in that position would speak to...

"If you’re in Kathmandu especially the first time and don’t know the ins and outs or appreciate your creature comforts, this is the hotel for you. Full amenities in the room and the A/C works amazing. They have a kitchen and Bimsen the concierge handles everything for you from bringing luggage to and from you room and setting up a laundry service. After roughing it a bit in the mountains, this hotel was amazing!"

"A very good stay in Kathmandu! The staff is very helpful - and we felt very well treated by them during our visit. E.g. we had been on a morning Mountain flight, where they had given us a breakfast package. They also gave us breakfast when we got back from the flight. The rooms are comfy and the breakfast is fully OK - and with superb coffee. We definitely recommend this hotel!"
