We stayed in a standard room in the main building and it was so lovely! The breakfast was awesome and the walk down to the village was convenient. This hotel has a lovely restaurant attached with great food. Zaros Lake is just around the corner. My favorite part was the spring water running down the side of the road. A very lovely village to visit on your trip around Crete.
Perfect place to stay away from the chaos of Heraklion! The food in the restaurant is AMAZING - definitely try the grilled mushrooms if you can (we had it twice)! The homemade white and red wine are also amazing! The room was clean and spacious, and the property itself is beautiful and peaceful. Nicolas was an amazing dinner host. We loved every minute of our stay!
We loved it there, we spent 10 days there. And plan to likely return. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the apartment was spacious, clean, cleaning service every 2nd day. The pool was beautiful and nice, a kids pool also. Loved waking up to the view of the sea and mountains!

We initially had booked 2 nights here and had fortunately not booked any of our 3 remaining nights in Crete. As soon as we stepped foot in the place, we immediately booked another 2 nights. The house was amazing! It had a full kitchen, loft, wooden spiral staircase, 2 bathrooms, and 2 balconies. This is a great place to stay in Matala. It has parking and is a quick walk to the beach/caves/restaurants instead of parking in the main town lot which is a nightmare and often full. We drove from Heraklion did Knossos and ended tte day here then the next day we did Gortyn/Hagia Triada/ Phaistos and ended here. Perfect vase for that!
