Harau Valley, Sumatra, Indonesia We stayed at Abdi Homestay, one of only three other homestays in the area that we could see. It consists of five bungalows (one attached to kitchen) that in one direction faces a rice field and the other is against a sheer cliff with a waterfall. It’s the perfect setting to sit back in one of their hammocks and relax and read a book. The bungalows are extremely spacious with a large bed downstairs, a clean washroom with Western toilet and mandi shower and a loft upstairs with another bed and a small patio. There is always a flask of boiling water on your table for all day tea and coffee. At 120,000 rupiah per night (that's $12 Canadian!) it was a sweet escape. #indonesia #sumatra #bungalow http://kileetravels.com/harau-valley

"AN INDONESIAN STYLE HOTEL...NO AIR-CONDITION UNIT AND IT HAS THE OLD STYLE BATHROOM...GREAT IF YOU WANT FRESH AIR AND IF YOU PREFER THE OLD BATHROOMS...VERY FRIENDLY AND INFORMATIVE STAFF! GOOD LOCATION ON BY-PASS STREET, WITH ONE VERY GOOD RESTAURANT ACROSS THE STREET AND ALSO A VERY BIG GROCERY STORE (BUDIMAN) JUST FEET AWAY...VERY EASY AND INEXPENSIVE TO GET A RIDE WITH GRAB INTO THE CENTER, WHICH IS ABOUT 1K...THE HOTEL IS RECOMMENDED FOR ANYONE THAT WANTS TO EXPERIENCE AUTHENTIC INDONESIAN LODGINGS..."
