"We stayed in a deluxe villa on the estate. Communication prior to arrival was excellent and it was easy to book a reasonably priced transfer from the airport. They kindly allowed us a complimentary (very) early check in and that was fantastic after a long flight. The room was very spacious with a stunning view from the patio. It was quiet and peaceful. There was a working kitchen with a coffee machine and tea and coffee and complimentary wine, beer and snacks. The amenities were very comprehensive. The bed was large and comfortable with good air conditioning. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of cut fruit, yoghurts, meats, cheeses, smoked salmon and pastries plus a cooked to order hot choice (including eggs royale!). My husband is very fussy about his coffee but said the coffee he was served was perfect. We had lunch and dinner there and although there was limited choice, all the meals were very tasty and the portions large. We had a private wine tasting of five of the Estate’s wines which we really enjoyed. Service was extremely friendly and efficient. We had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend a stay here if in stellenbosch. "

"The Grande Roche is a wonderful place with such kind, happy and thoughtful management and staff. In particular thank you to Marchello, Denai and Veena for making my stay so comfortable - you are wonderful people! The whole vibe is very chilled and friendly. The views out onto the grounds and vineyards are stunning - the landscaping and gardening give a sense of luxury and connection with nature. I really loved the sense of calm. The room was beautful, and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of cooked to order choices, and I will miss dining next to the fire in the evenings - the chef was amazing! Thank you to all the staff at Grande Roche - keep up the amazing work!"

"The breakfast was wonderful and the rooms were comfortable and well lit. Nice little snack bar in the room as well. Beautiful, gated in property with a pool with a lot of flowers. Staff were very friendly and charming. Would stay again for sure."

"Far better than the impression you get from the photos on Expedia. Lovely spacious suite with private pool terrace. Very well appointed. Comfortable firm bed. Great hotel service. Food in the restaurant good not great - service a little confused too. Especially odd was the mismatch between the names of the dishes on the menu and what you actually get. "
