"Fabulous spacious room !"

"Staff were great and very accommodating! Booked two room for me and my in-laws and were able to put us on the same floor! Great location to the French Quarters and casino!"

"We had two main issues with our stay. First, the room was so poorly ventilated that the room was damp and did not dry over time. The sheets, towels, carpet were all very damp. Even the pages of our books swelled over time. It felt as if there had been a pipe leak or similar issue that was fixed, but the room was not able to fully dry afterwards. Apart from this, the room also wasn't of the best quality. The carpet was peeling in several areas, and some materials were a bit cheap given the price point. The second issue was the staff. We encountered 5 or 6 different individuals, all of whom were unhelpful and often seemed annoyed to handle questions or requests. Even a request as small as asking for a new key card was treated as an inconvenience. It's worth noting that the staff wasn't busy nor was the hotel crowded at the time. Over the course of 4 days, they just didn't seem very interested in helping guests. They were indifferent, at best, and often irritated when asked to do their jobs. Very unfortunate as we had very high hopes. The lobby is very pretty. The food and the service in the restaurant were both excellent. However, the staff issues and poor room quality spoiled our stay."

"The Merchantile is great with 1 major drawback. The Merchantile is in a Perfect location, close to the Convention Center, Canal, Bourbon Street. It is well decorated, the rooms are comfortable. The breakfast is good enough and the coffee is great. The one drawback is room selection. Pay the Extra to get "city View" The Odd numbered room face a brick wall. No sunlight at all. It was like a cave. We will come back to the Merchantile, but will only select City View"
