"I had a great experience at the Elite Hotel Frost. This was helped, I’m sure, by the fact that I was given a free upgrade to a premium room. The front desk staff were delightful. The lobby was very cozy (giving it a somewhat different feel from the Scandic Hotel around the corner). The restaurant had excellent Lapland-themed meals for dinner and a traditional Swedish breakfast with lots of options (including vegan ones). I loved the design of my room, which was simultaneously upscale and contemporary, but also really brought the feeling of nature into the room. The bed was comfortable, and they had a “pillow menu,” so guests with different preferences could choose the firmness and thickness that worked best for them. The bathroom, similarly, had a stand-out design, with nice use of indirect lighting… and a towel warmer. Being a new hotel, the whole place was impeccable. The newness had its downsides, as the hotel was still a work in progress. The parking garage was not completed (which was fine, since I was there in August and not the snowy months). The spa was open (pool and sauna), but had not yet started offering spa treatments. On the whole, I liked the Elite Frost better than the Scandic, where I stayed last year, though the free upgrade maybe makes this an unfair comparison. Elite Hotel Frost will be my hotel of choice when in Kiruna."

"Absolute wonderful experience. The location is great, the rooms are well appointed and cozy. Breakfast was nice and I loved the trails right by the hotel. I visited the spa and it was amazing and definitely worth the booking. If I return to Kiruna this will be my go to hotel. "

"I stayed in a glass igloo and it was amazing. The serene surroundings made for a peaceful stay. A moose passed by my igloo several times during my stay and I was able to get some decent photos of the aurora borealis. In the winter you can take a short walk across the river and see the sites of Jakkasjärvi, which includes the world famous Ice Hotel. The staff were kind and extremely helpful. The igloo, lounge, and shared bathrooms were immaculate. The provided breakfast was minimal but sufficient. I would highly recommend staying here."

"Friendly helpful staff. Good dinner in hotel restaurant. Nice breakfast buffet. Spacious attractive lobby. Clean room with most of the things one expects. The free shuttle from the train station stopped across the street from the hotel. "

"While this may have been cheaper than other options, it was not worth the money. The building is like a shed located away from the main city centre. My room smelled like cigarette smoke when I arrived. I think it may have been coming in through the vents however it was overpowering and very unpleasant for a non smoker. The bathroom completely flooded from using the shower as the drain did not work properly. The room and bathroom are both very small but this was expected. The property itself is unstaffed but they are also very hard to contact as they don’t answer the phone or respond to emails. I called a number of times and the only time someone picked up they told me they would take a message and call back, however I never received a call. I wouldn’t return and would recommend finding somewhere else to stay. "
