Nice laid back and relaxed atmosphere. Can wake up to the sounds of the waves and spend some time by the water. We were able to see the northern lights from right outside of our hut. A fair price for lodging and an amazing experience.
Clean neat room, great staff, great services! Room does not have tooth brush or paste, soap otherwise perfect. Location not close to flybus stop is a probably the only minus.
I had an unfortunate tragedy occur during the flight to Iceland where my wife passed away. The staff here at Storm hotel were over and above extremely accommodating, kind and caring. They had a room ready for me early and blocked it off for me for the duration of my extended stay. The clerks at the front desk were all so nice, caring and friendly, and made me feel as comfortable as possible. When I hadn't been down to breakfast they graciously brought food up to my room for me. Words cannot...
I traveled with my husband and 1 year old. This was a very clean place with a lot of space. We loved being able to do some grocery shopping to eat at our place at the end of the day.
Great base - we explored Reykjavik, Snaefellsness peninsula from here. Wish I would have stayed here my first night as a base to explore the Golden Circle as well.
Perfect location to walk around Reykjavík. Lots of food options, shops and bars on the same street. The hotel staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Everyone on-site spoke English and gave advice. It is street parking which you have to pay for, it is free after 6PM though.
My stay at Alda & Iceland itself was wonderful. As a solo traveler I felt safe at the hotel & the front desk staff was very helpful as well as friendly! Room was cute & clean. They provided a coffee maker & mini fridge which I stored some items from the Bonus store 2 mins away. I was sad to leave.
This must be, hands down, the best place to stay in Reykjavik. Please hold a space for me! I would LOVE to stay here again and again as I am now addicted to Iceland. For downtown Reykjavik--no need to look anywhere else. This is the best place.
I wanted to be independent while visiting Reykjavik and the self-catering option was the first place to look. The reviews for Downtown Reykjavik Apartments (DRA) were great online so I gave it a go. The stay was excellent; the room was clean and warm and the owner, who I ran in to, was really helpful. The location is spot on. There is a Bonus grocery store a few blocks away and then the City itself is an easy walk along the main roads. When I go back to Reykjavik I'll stay here again.
The Canopy was a wonderful place to stay. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were all helpful and friendly. It’s located in a spot that is within walking distance to just about everything in Reykjavik. I’d definitely go back!
The apartment was nice, very comfortable, and well-located. However, we did have a few minor complaints. The lack of a microwave proved problematic during our first night because prior to checking-in, we were out and about trying different food in the city. As a result, we had quite a few takeaways we wanted to save for later only to find out our unit had no microwave to reheat them with upon settling in. I’m sure a larger unit might have them available, but for the smaller studio style...
This property ticked all of the boxes for us. It was centrally located, clean, and comfortable. The staff at the accompanying hotel were exceptional. Very helpful and always courteous.
There wasn’t a front desk but the hotel operated so smoothly with everything you needed in the room or in the linen closet. I would recommend and stay here again it was within walking distant from a few shops
The Swan House has accommodating staff and a modern style for any type of trip to Iceland. You will not be disappointed booking here. Anything in town is just a few streets away and very close to a bus stop which you will typically use for airport pick up and drop off, as well as pick up for any excursions.
