Just a lovely spot, 5 minutes driving from town and the shore in Newcastle, 15 or so to some great hiking trails. Grounds are very nice and there’s a gentle climb down to the river, a beautiful spot on the patio to sit out for a drink or morning coffee — and the breakfast was excellent as well (I had to go for the Ulster Fry (similar to the Full English) both mornings. We stayed in the Vintage Room at the Lisnacurran Guest House. It was a gorgeous room, very tastefully decorated with antiques. The bed itself had a fantastic headboard with wonderful woodwork. This room had it own separate bathroom that was very large and included a clawfoot tub. Claire was the employee that we dealt with and she was a joy. She had a very welcoming and pleasant personality.
