The original building was built several hundred years ago as a monastery. It was converted to a hotel several years ago and Sonesta has added several more building for rooms, but, has preserved the look of the old monastery. The grounds are gorgeous with flowers and trees in abundance. The restaurant was good with hearty meals and friendly service. It was a very pleasant place to come back to after a day of touring and just sit back and relax.
Such a nice oasis in the Sacred Valley! The whole hotel is beautiful and the staff are wonderful (especially Victor at the front desk). They arranged taxi rides for us to the train station for our adventure to Machu Picchu and to Cusco. The rooms are super comfortable, the menu of food is absolutely delicious and the grounds are gorgeous!
The staff were very helpful and the rooms are nicely done. The hotel is around 15 minutes away from Urubamba. At the same time, It was relaxing and will definitely stay at this hotel on my next trip.
Gustavo was extremely helpful throughout the stay and was responsive when asking for anything we had questions about such as food, feeding the alpacas, lighting the fireplace for us and even arranged an early morning taxi for us to the ollantaytambo train station

Wonderful experience! This hotel is set among the Andes, close to the Sacred Valley, with spectacular grounds that are very well manicured. The hotel lobby has a large, open look, with a fire place in the center, and a hidden bar downstairs with a nice little nook to relax in. My girlfriend and I were breath-taken at this beautiful place, the architecture and hospitality was amazing. The front desk and staff are the sweetest and always there to help you in any need. This hotel surpassed our expectation! We had previously stayed at the Tambo del Inka and this property was much better.
