Very clean, neat, & the staff was absolutely fantastic!! Food was great! Oh the saunas were so so so relaxing.
The only reason I checked off the area outside of the property being unsafe is that Ecuador was under marshall law so we did not feel safe outside the hotel. BUT WE FELT TOTALLY SAFE & COMFORTABLE INSIDE!!!

We had to evacuate Quito emergently during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. Unable to get a flight that night, we purchased nights at the Hotel Alpachaca for $20 / night / room. Turning onto the dirt road, we were nervous. Happily, the hotel was well built, clean, and staffed by friendly people. The next morning they served us a breakfast of bread and cheese sandwiches, cooked-to-order eggs, and tea or instant coffee. Beautiful authentic boutique hotel. I had to stay one night on my way to Galapagos and did not want to stay at one of those chain modern places. This hotel is very charming, with hammocks outside and place to walk safely on the property. Bonus airport transfer included. Onsite restaurant open till 10PM with great food.

I somehow thought this would be closer to the airport, but it was about a 30 minute drive. Nevertheless, Llalo was very clean, safe, professionally operated and the breakfast on the porch was ideal. The rates were appropriate for the lodging. I highly recommend it.
Hotel Finlandia has great staff that speak English and Spanish. The rooms offer ample space with adequate closet space. The bathroom was nicely appointed with a large shower and a small countertop. Besides being a clean, beautiful and comfortable hotel, the CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EXTRODINARY. I forgot my family's passports and money in the hotel safe and left for the airport which is 40 min away. I didn't realize my mistake until I was in the airport terminal with only 1 hour before our flight. The hotel makes a nice stay over when transiting via Quito to the Galapagos or other destination in Ecuador. Staff and service were great, very welcoming and helpful. We ate dinner in the Botanica Restaurant and found the service and quality excellent (try the Tempura Shrimp entree). The heated book was very welcome and while we did not have time to use it, the fitness center was large with a great selection of modern equipment.
