From the moment we stepped from our transfer, we were treated royally - the staff is trained well, very friendly, and efficient! The courtyard, used for meals, was lovely - heaters provided for cooler weather. The menus for both breakfast and dinner offered a variety of local as well as international options. Our standard room was small, but very comfortable. The best feature, for those who love to walk, is the location - a twenty minute stroll from central downtown, near wonderful museums...

The pool was the highlight of the stay very nice facilities outside close to the airport

Wonderful little family run hotel, friendly, such nice people! Free airport shuttle, wonderful free breakfast, delicious coffee. Very safe and secure for single elderly women traveler. Pool is clean, refreshing..so relaxing. Best part is the beautiful gardens, tropical plants and all the birds singing in the trees..will surely come back here.

Victor, manager at hotel, was so kind upon check in. I had a long journey to San Jose and another one the next day. He did everything to make me comfortable and welcome. The garden in the back is so inviting and lush. I felt safe and cared for. The next morning I was taken to the airport for my next flight. We stayed one night prior to leaving Costa Rica. The hotel’s shuttle picked us up at the Sansa terminal and brought us directly to the property. The property has a terrific view of San Jose and the room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. This is the best deal in San Jose. The place is modern, the bed was amazing, the restaurant was awesome. Location was central. Highly recommended. Staff was super helpful .

We stayed here on the front and back end of our trip to The Springs and Peacelodge. The hotel is nicely decorated, clean, and close to downtown San Jose. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the free breakfast is great. We also ate dinner here and the food is very good. The only downside is that the rooms are small and it can be quite noisy, as there are many buses driving by all the time. I would suggest a room on the top floor and on the opposite side of the Main Street.

We have always enjoyed staying at Hotel Flor de Lys, however this last time we were on the 3rd floor which was difficult for my husband who has a little hip pain, but since it was for just a few days we did not request a room change. The staff here is always excellent -- very helpful and always very friendly, will go out of their way to assist in any way, and the rooms are always very clean. We like the location because we always like to walk around central San Jose and go to the Mercado...

Great experience, nice staff and great restaurant downstairs. Good pool and amazing breakfast. Walking distance to very good restaurants and if you don't mind a 10-15 minute walk through nice environment and a big park it is walking distance to downtown area with marketplace, small shops, souvenir shops, etc. I read a few of the negative reviews before I stayed here and to be honest if you're expecting a Vegas luxury penthouse suite here and get upset if you stay at anything less then I can...

Great place to stay in San Jose´. Very close to the shopping district, restaurants and night life. The hotel is very quiet all day, rooms are clean and with lots of space for your suitcases. I highly recommend this place !

We had a wonderful Christmas week at Canal Grande Lodge! Raffael and his staff were excellent hosts who made sure we had everything we needed. The small hotel was quiet and beautifully situated. You could walk to restaurants and a few small local stores. We enjoyed Santa Margaritas down the street on 2 nights of our stay. If you know this is a small, local property that’s comfortably lived in and you don’t expect a palace for your shoestring budget, you’ll be very happily surprised by this...

This was our second time staying here and we love this place! Staff is very helpful, and made the effort to communicate with us, using our very limited Spanish. Trees and flowers are beautiful here. Many choices on Free Breakfast menu, and food is very good. We love staying in this place and know that the staff takes great pride in keeping the natural beauty of Costa Rica, and providing excellent service.
