It's feeding time at the zoo! If you can't resist those cuddly critters you might want to pay a trip to Elephant Transit Home, one of the attractions in the heart of Udawalawa. If you'd also like to explore some of the parks in Udawalawa, head to Udawalawe National Park and Mau Ara Lake.
"The staff were excellent and went out of their way to ensure we were fed on late arrival. Breakfast was very good.
But you pay for what you get. This is a 2 star hotel. "
"My family and I stayed for one night at the Hantara Hotel as we needed nearby accommodation for our National Park safari. The setting of the hotel is absolutely stunning - in amongst nature with the wildlife, plenty of areas to walk around the hotel or sit and relax in a hammock. The facilities were comfortable and the cleanliness of the rooms was excellent. Oscar really made our stay enjoyable - he was very attentive, a really friendly and accommodating manager. The service and quality of the food were really stand out - Oscar and the chef are a credit to the hotel!
The only downside for us was that the pool was being renovated while we were staying there, so we couldn't go for a cooling dip after the safari, but we would most definitely go back to Hantara Hotel and hope to do so soon!!"
"Agthira river camp was excellent. The staff were all friendly and the room was so nice. Looking onto the river was very relaxing and hours were spent watching the monkeys. The buffet in the morning and evening was great. The safari was booked via the hotel and was a great experience."
"Had a great stay... only down side being we were only there for 2 nights
Lovely hotel, with very friendly staff.
Rooms great and well appointed.Great setting and relaxing after or before safari.
Only bit of advice is dont go too late for breakfast or buffet evening meal, as its all been hoovered up.
Would recommend and if we find ourself in same area again, will re book.
