"We loved the proximity to salt marshes for seeing flamingos and other birds plus the salt museum was interesting. The hotel is delightful, staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast was outstanding! This all made for an ideal location for us for a couple of nights."

"Charming hosts. Best to have some words of Italian or at least functioning Google Translate for your visit; Elena also speaks French which was helpful! Old-fashioned and pleasant stone rooms at a good price, lovely views and ability to have breakfast/lunch/dinner on the premises, very good local cuisine. Ideally you would come with your own car as exploring locally by foot is not really an option, too remote. But in a car, great!"

"Nice hotel in a, quiet location at the end of town. You can get to everything from here on foot. Good directions on where to park, what to see and do. Very nice staff. It would have been helpful for the hotel to send WhatsApp directions on the best way to reach the hotel; we ended up in the middle of the cobblestone town trying to navigate through it. Instead there was a second easier way (all paved roads) to the hotel we found out when leaving."

"I was a little worried after reading the reviews - but the hotel is actually a gem. Its location is perfect, just across from a swim pier on the ocean. It has free stand up paddle boarding SUP, as well as free kayaks and free bikes. The pool area is good, although the pool itself is a little shallow but still welcome to cool off it. It’s family run, and they were very attentive and welcoming. Only thing was that my bath towel was a little frayed at the edges. Otherwise, it was great. The room...

"The hotel offers less than expected. As a Resort & Spa it's expected to have Resort's facilities and to be a spa which nothing more than swimming-pool was found. "After a week at a villa near the local beach, we just spent 2 unexpected extra nights at the Hotel Groticelli (due to cancelled flights home) and we all agreed it's a great place to stay, with amazing views, warm and helpful staff (receptionist helpfully speaks English), plenty to choose from at breakfast, and easy to access. The air-conditioned rooms have spacious terraces in front, and there is a pool (goes to 1.9m deep) for relaxing in, with outdoor showers etc. It's only 40min-drive along...

"The property was very clean and tidy, there was ample parking space. Sadly there was a slight mux up with our payment but the hotel promised to remedy this. The morning we left there was no electricity in the area, so no coffee. The receptionist apologised and generously offered us a bottle of wine as we were leaving to compensate. Overall a very good impression."

The rooms were spacious as was the bathroom and very clean. Parking was easy and plenty of outdoor space. Close by were a couple of bars, one of which had veg, panini filled etc. There was a good restaurant called Zammu which was good and good service. Wiuld stay at this b & b again. Well worth it"
