"Checkout staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The onsen was welcoming for foreigners and we were informed tattoos were okay too, which was an unexpected surprise. Amenities (including robe for the onsen) were provided and there were vending machines easily accessible as well. Short walk to Yuzawa Station so it was very convenient. Compared to other properties in the area, it was nice to stay in a hotel with a private bathroom for only a slight price increase from hostel-style accommodations....

"The greatest retreat from the hectic streets of Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. After all those cities we came to this hotel in Minakami and never wanted to leave. We had the best time here. "The property is ideal for groups snowboarding or skiing. A 15 minute walk from the Yuzawa-Gala gondola, which is also the train station. There is also a ski and snowboard rental place 100 metres down the road which offer reasonable pricing, good service and a bus/van drop off service."

"We went on a one night trip from Tokyo. They have a free ride from Jomokogen Shinkansen station, so it is very easy to get here. The hotel is new and modern. All rooms have an private bath on the balcony with a nice view of the river below. We had the half board option, and I would say it was great value since the dinner was a 6 course menu. Minakami Onsen was a sleepy small town surrounded by mountains. As a tourist it was nice to see the other sife of Japan, not only large cities. Would...

"It was great experience staying at this place. Right after we went to gala Yuzawa ski came back to the hotel and dipped ourselves into the large Ofuro in the basement. Smoking was not allowed inside or well outside the house so it was the only problem me and my friends faced during the stay but all in all we enjoyed our stay at the place. Place is warm and cozy. Recommend for friends and family or in groups over 5 people. "
