We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Mercedes Palenque. The rooms were comfortable and the ambiance was quite pleasant. There were 10 of is in 4 rooms so not all rooms were in the same bungalow, but it was ok. We enjoyed the jungle sounds in the morning and had the fantastic opportunity of watching a flock of parrots chattering in a tree and even watched them fly around. Never knew how much noise they make!
That said, please keep in mind that you are in a rain forest and you may have a critter...
Truly an experience I will
Never forget. The ruins in Palenque were something that I will never forget. The hotel is quiet, nice, has a pool and they were very accommodating and helpful. Great dining options within walking distance. I will be staying here again if I go back to Palenque.
The hotel is located in a clean and quiet part of Palenque. The main bus station is an easy 2 blocks away. To get to the ruins, Taxis are at the door and even cheaper "collectivos" are about 3 blocks away. A good choice of restaurants is a few minutes stroll from the hotel.
The hotel itself is very clean and has a friendly, helpful staff. The hotel's restaurant serves good meals and the service is fine. There is a pool and lounging area in the center of the hotel.
