"Our stay was handled very poorly from start to finish. The issues began at check-in when I was assigned a room that was already occupied. During our stay, the property experienced a power outage, yet there was no communication whatsoever from the staff regarding the situation, expected resolution, or available support. To make matters worse, we were forced to carry suitcases from the 4th floor down to reception due to the circumstances. Prior to my sister's arrival, I had also left clear instructions with the front desk to provide her with the room key. Unfortunately, those instructions were neither documented nor communicated during the staff handoff. As a result, my sister was denied access when she arrived later that day. The entire experience was frustrating, embarrassing, and completely avoidable. What stood out most was the lack of communication, attention to detail, and basic customer care. Each issue on its own could have been managed effectively, but the repeated service failures turned what should have been a pleasant stay into a disappointing experience. These are fundamental customer experience issues that could have been prevented with better processes, communication, and accountability."

"This hotel was a great gem in the middle of downtown Salem. We enjoyed being able to walk to almost every point of interest. The room was spacious and chic. The shower was a bit small and parking was horrendous. The hotel host a lot of events so that contributed to the abundance of people in the area but we eventually got a spot toward the evening. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here."

"No luggage rack! Not well decorated room. Chargers on lamp didn't work. Lighting is way too bright and bathroom vent way too loud! Tub floor was slippery and no safety bars in the shower. No one at front desk when I had a question. Terrible parking when it rains as alot of the pavement seems to get flooded. Loud music from the bar until pretty late. Only one door in and out and some of the rooms are far far away from the main door. Also no elevator if you have heavy suitcases so you have to lug them up the creaky rather steep stairs. I've stayed at this property years ago many times; it has undergone a "modern" vibe but has gone downhill in many ways in my opinion. However, excellent location for walking around the lake or paying extra for a lake view. All in all a very mediocre motel with too high prices on wkends."
