If you like the great outdoors, you might want to take time to explore Gulf Coast Visitor Center, located 0.8 mi (1.3 km) from central Everglades City.
You can spend time exploring the galleries in Museum of the Everglades during your travels in Everglades City. Amble around this relaxing area's marina, or seek out the kayaking spots.
Glide through mangrove tunnels on an airboat tour, spotting alligators and exotic birds in their natural habitat. Feast on fresh stone crab at rustic waterfront eateries before exploring the nearby Ten Thousand Islands by kayak.
Plenty to do and see in and around town. Would highly recommend one of the many boat tours in the area. Close access to the National park and they will soon be home to the new Everglades National Park Visitors Center.

Their Everglades Collier County museum is really interesting. Also, location is close to the Skunk Ape Research Headquarters. (The Skunk Ape is Florida's Bigfoot.)

My family went there every year for our family vacations for over 20 years. Alot has changed. Alot of the stores were closed thru the weekend which made no sense especially being a holiday weekend.

This town was not too easy to navigate. I realize they were preparing for a festival, but I think we are more accustomed to blocks that line up and streets that all have signage.

Def a hidden Florida gem. Not overly crowded or touristy like where I live in Florida.

"The hotel suites are roomy and comfortable. We found everything we needed, including pool towels. The kitchenette had plates, bowls, glasses, and utensils, in addition to the microwave and full refrigerator. The office staff ladies were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool. It is a good choice in Everglades City. "
"I had a wonderful stay. The experience was truly enjoyable — the location was perfect, with restaurants nearby for convenience. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was absolutely spectacular. The place had everything you need if you prefer to cook, which made it feel just like home. One of the highlights was the beautiful sunset view — simply breathtaking. I would definitely recommend it and hope to return again!

"Tom gave great service. There was easy check in and check out. It wasn’t too far from stores and outdoor excursions. The inside of my cottage was a little outdated, but still had everything I needed for my stay. "
"Amazing friendly and private short walk to the beach the property was set up just right for everything needed to have a blast at the beach or pool. That part of Marco beach is great more private and more wildlife! We saw on both days sightings of dolphins very close, snorkeling the rocks saw at least 20-30 snappers , sand dollars, shells, and even a mother manatee with her baby !!! The kids will will never forget! Thank God for this cozy vacation suites and opportunity to see His beautiful nature"
"Perfect weekend getaway for the family. Didn’t need to touch the car the entire weekend. Lots to do and plenty of restaurants across the street. Very clean facilities with superb service. Will be back. "
