For sightseeing, Pacific Pinball Museum, Crab Cove Visitor Center, and Crown Memorial State Beach are just a short journey away. East End offers a perfect escape with tree-lined streets of Victorian and Craftsman homes just steps from the water. Stroll along the Oakland Estuary where walking paths serve up stunning San Francisco skyline views. Crown Memorial State Beach beckons for leisurely afternoons, while history buffs will appreciate the neighborhood's well-preserved 19th-century architecture. Getting around this quiet residential area is easiest by car or bike on the flat, peaceful streets. Local dining options are sparse, but you're never far from Alameda's Park Street corridor for restaurants. Vacation rentals in historic homes provide the most authentic way to experience this charming waterfront community.

West End
West End's tree-lined streets invite wandering past Victorian homes that whisper tales of Alameda's naval history. The shoreline beckons with scenic paths along the San Francisco Bay, perfect for peaceful strolls away from tourist crowds. Crab Cove Visitor Center offers a fascinating glimpse into local ecology while the nearby Pacific Pinball Museum adds a touch of quirky fun. This quiet residential neighborhood requires a car or bike to explore fully. You'll find limited dining options nearby, so plan to venture to central Alameda for meals. Accommodation options focus on vacation rentals and charming bed & breakfasts housed in historic Victorian buildings.

Learn more about Alameda
Across the bay from San Francisco, this island city offers a refreshing escape with its small-town atmosphere and spectacular skyline views. Pedal along the waterfront path at Robert W. Crown Memorial State Beach to enjoy the famous panorama. The USS Hornet Museum, a decommissioned aircraft carrier, houses naval history and Apollo mission recovery artifacts. Hilton San Francisco Airport Bayfront
"Chambre correcte sans plus… vieiile chambre avec tapis. Personnel courtois et emplacement loin de tous les restos et commodites. Doit le faire en voiture. Bien aimé la vue sur la baie qui permet de voir les avions atterrir."
Hilton San Francisco Union Square
"Fantastic hotel and great value for a stay. Loved the rooftop bar overlooking the city. Our shower unfortunately wasn't stocked with body wash when we arrived, but otherwise great experience. The only negative is you feel pretty uncomfortable walking around the hotel after sunset due to proximity to the Tenderloin, but safe environment inside and great staff."
Handlery Union Square Hotel
"Our stay was very nice and the room was clean. I liked the older place with the updates and how quiet it was from any road noise. Loved that there was a man ice maker and a water station for refilling water bottles The staff was very nice and always greeted us when we were coming and going. The location of the hotel was great for getting around and seeing the sights. A few things that could help improve the stay would be some overall updates for the room. The tv was a bit older and the remote was wearing out it seemed. We weren’t in the room too much so it didn’t really impact us. The lighting in the bathroom and the AC controls could have been updated to go more with the more modern updates overall."
Hotel Riu Plaza Fisherman's Wharf
"The location was convenient; walking distance to Pier 39. On-site parking was a relief. We used the swimming pool which was clean and a comfortable area. Breakfast was excellent."
Marriott Vacation Club®, San Francisco
"It was in a very convenient location. I got my room before the checking time. I left my luggage at the desk and one hour latter, I was notified my room was ready. The location is excellent. You can walk to different places."
The Pickwick Hotel
"Johnny was very helpful. It was also great that breakfast was provided with my stay"
Hyatt Regency San Francisco
"Great location , staff and hotel"
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Berkeley Marina
"The room I stayed in building 4 was clean had an old smell and the balcony was dirty with bird droppings. The latch to the door was broken but still locked just needs an upgrade. There was a popping sound coming from the walls so I could not get a good sleep. Also don’t stay on the side where the parking is because you get all the traffic noise from the parking area. Overall the place is well maintained and semi friendly staff but the level of attentiveness was not the same as I saw with other customers staying there- but still cordial and respectful. I enjoyed the tranquility this place brings and the walks on the port. The park near by was a great spot to walk the fury pets and environment was all that I expected. The pool was clean and the jacuzzi was much enjoyed and needed after long walks. The boat house Resturant was not my vibe but good food. The breakfast is overpriced but did appreciate the port view. Definitely worth staying here and will visit once again to see if I get the same impression till next time. Worth the money."
