Wilkes-Barre is a larger, economically depressed locale in Pennsylvania. It's hanging on by a thread, but the locals are rightfully proud of their little spot of fun and friendliness. We had a great time.

Didn't see much of the area, we did walk around. Just interested in seeing the Shamrock Tenors at the Kirby Center. My grandmother was born in Wilkes-Barre. I didn't realize that this was a huge city with really tall buildings and one way streets.

the area is great! We came for a couple's weekend away and to do hiking. Great for that! This hotel The Woodlands is not worth the money unless you like broke down and smelly.

Easy drive downtown so I could see the river. And the casino is close by. We just pass through on our way to Boston
"Had a very pleasant stay recently! Was a little nervous considering the area, but this newly renovated hotel met my expectations. The woman checking me in was kind, thorough and pleasant. The one downside was hearing the TV next door, late at night and early morning. Otherwise, no complaints. Would book here again in the future."
"This was a quick overnight business trip. The location to the airport and shuttle service was fantastic! Lobby staff above and beyond with service. Very comfortable bed and accommodations. Quiet room, very clean. Shuttle was prompt and courteous. Definitely recommend "
