Bintan is so quiet as they have been hit by a tourist tax which has meant that post COVID the tourism has not got back to previous levels. If you avoid weekends you seem to have Bintan to yourself. We literally had the whole lagoon to ourselves.

Bintan is a little pricey for Indonesia, but the island is laid back with lovely pleasant people. They cut the island between locals and resorts which to me is segregation and I am not pleased with that. They could invest more into the local areas.

Excellent place to relax, nice beaches, enjoy spa and massages and if you are not into shopping, just relaxing holiday, this is an excellent spot.
