"I think very few gaijin go this far out. Some of the communication was difficult but the staff tried really hard and we enjoyed the stay
Hard to navigate getting to and from major stations and it snowed one day at end of March
Overall I’m glad we did it for the experience to be immersed in Japanese culture.

"Disappointing! We booked the Momiji suite which is huge, clean and nice. But the “open air” bath tub is not at all open air. The private bath is enclosed in its own room which stays steamy 24/7, so the air is 40C/104F. This makes mold grow on the walls.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The included food is a mediocre quality buffet that is exactly the same every day.
It seems like Kinugawa has not recovered from Covid, as the town shuts down around 4:30 and there are very limited...

"The area around the property was really beautiful. Several things to do, we went to the monkey show which was interesting and to Edo Wonderland, which was very cool. However, this hotel is very old and needs to be updated. The outdoor bath was nice."
