I happened to bump into one of the staff, he graciously showed me how to lock and unlock the door, introduced me to laundry and locker room - very helpful! The room we stayed at was clean and huge ! "The good: Fiesole is a tranquil little town and an easy 15 minute bus ride into downtown Florence. We saw many hikers and cyclists passing through. The bad: the hotel is dingy and charmless. It advertises views of the Tuscan countryside but these are a sliver at best. Our room had a moldy shower, stained curtain, and repainted second hand furniture. The front desk is not manned 24/7. The breakfast is so-so. In short, if you want to avoid the pricier hotels in town, or access to local hiking...
