What a gem! We stayed at Ishinoya after our 4 days of non-stop walking and touring Tokyo and before another 3 manic days of touring Kyoto. It was such a needed reprieve! I wish we could have stayed one more night before heading home. We booked the room with a private tub, but I tried the public bath very early one morning when it was empty. It was just pure bliss! You do have to reserve dinner/breakfast in advanced. We're lucky there was one spot left for breakfast. I would have wanted to do...
