"This place is very peaceful. I am not sure I have ever had such a quiet and relaxing hotel experience. Food, rooms and staff were all exceptional. Loved the floor to ceiling view of the Douro River from our room and rooftop pool was awesome."

We stayed in beautiful hotels in Portugal--this one is far/away the finest. Location is in the center of the historic, beautiful, charming village, which cannot be missed for meals, strolling, photos, etc. Highly recommend making the trip to the Arouca Geo Park for the Paiva Walkways and the suspension pedestrian bridge--experience of a lifetime!"
