Service in the hotel and at the restaurant for breakfast was excellent. Only gripe, minor, but an issue for me with a bad back - bed was pretty hard. A good place to stay in Goslar - recommend it."

Whilst the facilities are very good, the attitude of the staff, beginning with check-in are so poor (I would go so far as to say completely bereft of anything resembling customer service) that my work team and friends who regularly visit Goslar will never be staying here again (The Hotel Schiefer will now be receiving our business). "Friendly and helpful hotel staff. Hotel is virtually next to the Goslar Train Station. Short walk to the old town with beautiful wooden buildings, perfectly representing medieval Germany (pardon me if I am wrong), a wondering plaza, and the Kaiserplatz. Excellent housekeeping."

"Clean room, kind staff, good breakfast buffet. Nice beer in the bar. It has been rennovated quite tastefully. I would personally prefer that they have kept the old beams visible but that is a matter of taste. The ceiling in our room was a little low. No problem for me (182 cm) but for a large person it would be a bit cramped. All in all a very pleasant stay. "
