"Great stay at the Blue Water Hotel. The view is incredible, overseeing the beach and beautiful hotel layout. The rooms are very nice too but could do with a little bit of updating minor details. The pool is HUGE with plenty of privacy. There is a beach that the hotel overlooks too which you can access. The only downside was that the whole steam room, sauna and jacuzzi was down for maintaince so couldn’t enjoy the spa

"The Grand Oriental is a wonderful building. Unfortunately it has been unsympatheticly renovated many years ago and is tired and worn which maked it difficult for staff to keep it clean. On the plus side its $1.50 $AUS tuk tuk ride any nunber of great places. It's got a great dinnig room, open all day And the staff are terrifically helpful And it was only $35 aus a night. I arrived at 1.30 am and it was a bit of a shock but after 4 nights I'd stay there again "

"i was upgraded, thanks to Expedia, to a suite on the 4th (top) floor, which was amazing. When I arrived at the hotel at 1 a.m., the lobby and my suite initially felt a tad worn. Wow. i don't why I had that impression -- the hotel property and my suite were beautiful. And I loved all the history. "This is a decent hotel but not excellent I would say. Looks old and needs lot of attention to finer aspects of the rooms and building. Location is certainly very good if you have a lake view room. Pool is also good and large. Food is average with very less sitting space as compared to the room accommodation ( I had my B/F standing all the time ). I had to call for proper toilet kits all the time... Over all not very bad but not very good as well... to stay if you get a good price deal. "
